End user licence agreement
The agreement that governs use of the AsItIs desktop application.

Draft. This EULA is a working draft to be replaced after legal review and before the first signed build ships. The intent of each clause is final; the wording is not.
1. Licence
Subject to this agreement, the licensor grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the AsItIs application ("the Software") on machines you control. Free features may be used without a licence file. Pro features require a valid licence file issued to you or your organisation.
2. Licence files
A licence file identifies the licensee, the seat count and the date until which updates are included. It may be installed on up to 3 machines per licensed person. You may not share, publish or sell licence files, or alter the Software to bypass licence verification.
3. Updates
You may install any release published before the "updates until" date in your licence. Later releases require a new licence. The Software checks for updates only if you turn that on.
4. Your files
The Software processes files on your machine and does not transmit them. You keep all rights in your files and in anything you export. The line "Made with AsItIs" appears in Plain PDF exports from the free version and may be removed with Pro.
5. Restrictions
You may not reverse engineer the Software except where the law permits, remove notices, or use it to break the law. Third-party components are listed in the Software's acknowledgements and remain under their own licences (including SIL Open Font License fonts).
6. Beta
Beta releases are marked as such and may contain defects. The byte-clean invariant is tested before every release; if a release changes bytes you did not edit, report it and we treat it as stop-ship.
7. Warranty and liability
Except as required by law, the Software is provided "as is". The licensor's total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount paid for the licence. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law or your local consumer law.
8. Termination
The licence ends if you breach this agreement or receive a refund. On termination, delete the licence file. Free features remain available.
9. Governing law
Laws of India; courts in India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
